Kids' Sewing Classes
Kids' Sewing Classes 2026
Let's get the kiddos sewing! This is a great opportunity for the children to learn problem solving, math, critical thinking skills all while creating from thread and cloth. The students begin with the "Intro to Sew" class where they will learn how to operate the sewing machine while making a small drawstring bag. All materials in the Intro class are included in the class fee.
Once the Intro is complete OR the students have prior knowledge of working the sewing machine (this includes winding the bobbin and threading the machine) the students can enroll in either The Sewing Lab or a "Special Project Class"
The Kids’ Sewing Lab is a 6-week session $200. This allows the student to work on a project without interruption and allows me to better assess their skills and what skills need additional practice. This is an opportunity for students 8 years old and older, to work on individual projects. All students in this program begin with a simple project based on their individual skill level. Projects include a tote bag, apron, or elastic waist shorts/pants. After completing the initial project, the students will work on projects that increase their knowledge and skills of sewing. The students will work with commercial patterns and learn the terminology and techniques required to successfully complete a project. (cost of materials will vary depending on the project of the student’s choosing).
