Beginning Quilting with Gail Feb. 1, 8, and 15 1-5pm
This class starts at the very beginning and completes this lovely Quilt.
Individual attention is given to each student for success. Come join your 3-SESSION class and will have some fun!
SUPPLY LIST
Your machine: In good working condition/recently cleaned. Know your machine. Don’t forget the cord, foot control, ¼ inch foot, and a walking foot (preferred for quilting the final product),
· Bobbins for your machine (wind two)
· Needles: 80/12 Sewing Machine Needles package
· Self-Healing Rotary Mat, medium or large
· Rotary cutter: 45mm (or 60 mm)
· Rulers: (1) 6”x24” and (1) 12”x12”. Look at them to see the markings are good for you. OR 6-1/2 OR 12-1/2 okay.
· Ever Sewn Measuring Gauge (ES-MSG) shows ¼” & other measurements
· Create a Sewing Essentials bag. Include:
o 100% Cotton Thread: One large spool either Metler Brand or Aurifil. Grey or Cream (and colors as you wish)
o Basic Sewing Kit: Pins: (Flower Head preferred for this project) Scissors (small and med/large), Tape Measure, Seam Ripper (after all, as Ye Sew, So shall Ye Rip), Needles, extra bobbins, rulers and measuring gauge.
o Mechanical Pencil and small notebook helpful
o Bring manual for your machine. You should be very familiar with it prior to class.
o Small iron if you have one to create your own station with an ironing mat.
Fabric: For your quilt: 2 yards of the dark fabric. 2 yards of light/white for main part of quilt. You will get batting later for the middle of the quilt.
Binding is ½ yard and Backing is 3-1/2 yards. (yes, this includes extra fabric)
Pattern: “Once in a Blue Moon” by Thimblecreek: This is a two-color quilt.
Eat a good breakfast!
