Specialty Classes for Adults (Minimum age 14 to attend)
Quilting Basics with Becki- So, what does this mean? Learning how to quilt involves proper use of rotary cutter and ruler. Learning how to sew with an appropriate seam allowance, how to choose the proper colors when the pattern is requiring “lights, mediums, and darks”. Becki can guide you through the process and help you pick out fabrics and patterns to set you on your way as a quilter! You will be making a 12-inch quilt block that can easily made into a bag or pillow (or make a bunch and turn into a full quilt!) $35 Tuesday, Oct. 3 10am-1pm
Simply Serge it Cardigan- The weather is starting to show signs of cooling off and it’s time to think of things to wear that cover our arms- Let’s get started with a cardigan. The serger makes it quick and easy. All materials are included in class fee- so sign up early to get the best selection of fashionable knits. *Please pre-wash and cut out your project prior to class for best results. $39.99 Monday, Oct. 2 11am OR Sunday, Oct. 8 1pm
Porch-bench Pillow workshop: We’re putting together the “Gather Together” pillow from Kimberbell Designs. This is an extensive workshop where you’ll learn how to applique and stitch up a braided border. As a bonus we’ll cut your appliques on the Silhouette Cameo, which will save you so much time! $25

Carry-all Pin Cushion: This is a great little project that teaches so much. Anna Graham, of the blog “Noodlehead” has created this pin cushion that has boxed corners and pockets- a great size to carry your gear in as you go to classes. This would stitch up as a great gift for a sewing friend. Thursday, Oct. 26 11am-2pm $10.
Quilting Lab:Do you want to quilt or quilt better? All quilting skill levels are welcomed. Join Becki as she helps you learn various quilting techniques. Do you have projects you want to start or have projects you need to finish- this is an open time for your individual projects. Offered Wednesdays 11-2. $25 per 3-hour session.
Bag of the Month Club
We’re excited to announce our new Bag of the Month Club. In this monthly workshop you’ll learn new skills which will increase your sewing confidence. We are offering a “prep-party” each month so that the workshop can focus primarily on the sewing techniques for the bags. The prep parties are optional, but the students will be expected to have all materials pre-cut and prepared for instruction.
Three-Pocket-Bag– We fell in love with this cute bag the moment we saw it and you will too! This bag is from Debbie Shore’s book Sew Brilliant Bags. We will be featuring several bags in our monthly club from this book. This is a one-day class and preparation is necessary. Wednesday, Oct. 25 11-4pm $35
The Get-Away Duffle Bag– We’re getting in gear to sew something fantastic. This is such a cute bag with so many options given by the pattern creator, Cindy Taylor Oates. The workshop is two days long and you’ll have a great stylish bag to stow your gear in. Tuesday and Wednesday November 28 and 29 11-4pm
The Necessary Clutch Wallet– This is a popular wallet that can hold just about everything including your cell phone. We’ll be using the pattern from Emmaline bags and you’ll learn a lot of great techniques that will give your creations that top notch look. Wednesday, December 27 11am-4pm. $35
Prep Party for Bag of the Month
We’re here to help you prepare for your class- You will have our guidance as you navigate the necessities for your class. $10 per session. Drop in any time between 11-4pm

Sip and Sew Sewcial Sewing (21 & up)– Join us and your sewing friends for a fun-filled night of sewing. Every other month we offer a special sewing project to sew and enjoy. Materials and light refreshments included in our night of sewing fun.

EverSewn Sewing Support Group
The EverSewn is such a great sewing machine, and we’ve got a group to help you know all the secrets she holds. We’ll learn new techniques and how to properly use all the accessories that came with the machine. The presentation will be following with a chance to “make and take” a small project to utilize the skills demonstrated in the presentation. First Saturday each month at 3pm. (Free to those who purchased their machines at The Sewin’Asylum/$10 for those who purchased elsewhere)

Class Policies: Full payment is due to secure your spot upon signing up for a class. 100% of class fee is refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is done at least 48 hours before class. This allows us to offer your spot to an individual on the waiting list and it insures that our teachers will be compensated for their time. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange.
